In such a short period of time, its back to the same old thing in The Land. Back to Wait Till Next Year. Back to (now not one) another Championship in another sport, please before I kick the bucket.
Truly could NOT believe this latest collapse (reminds me of 2007). Didnt watch the last two games. Couldn't bear to watch the losing again. Like so many times these past 53 years, almost getting there and ZOINK...Buh Bye! Had a short respite i...Read Full Post »

Oct 11, 2017 turned out to be a pretty good day for me professionally and hockey-wise (even though LAK lost in OT).
I sold all of my LAK games this season except 9 of them. (I travel a lot, and am getting on a plane in about 14 hrs to be gone for pretty much the rest of the month). However, I did keep the CAL game on this day b/c it is one of the few early dates in the season I could make.
Well, the first hockey bonus was this: Jaromir Jagr signed with the ...Read Full Post »

As week 5 dawned, the big question was "who's tanking?" Sad. See below.
BAL 30 OAK 17: The actual signature news item of last week was not just the loss of Derek Carr to a fracture in his back, but how the QB who went untouched last season had been pummeled repeatedly after refusing to kneel during the Anthem. The grapevine had it that his racist teammates opened the doors. Liberal-leaning Snopes tried to put it to rest (not as hard as others), but su...Read Full Post »

its turnng out to be a very difficult end to 2017. and the nfl is a big part of that. some bizarre results in the last 2 weeks and even i am scratching my head.
on to the money"
tbay+5.5: no reason to not take big home points against a travelling pats team that has the worst defense in the history of pro football at the quarter season mark. the bucs r more than competent on offense.
jettes-.5: i'll be wong on this game no matte what i pick, so the default is notc...Read Full Post »

name of the game is upside down. the nfl is flipflopping all over the place :
afce: the jets and bills r better than expected, and the pats and phins far worse. bills smell division believe it or not and the beatable bengals r up next. the dolphins may not be fixable, and the pats at the moment feilding the worst defense in nfl history.
afcn: standard. can bell handle ths kind of workload for a whole season? computer says no. ben looks like he has a bit of a sore shoulde, an...Read Full Post »

The season is now over and the playoffs are set up. Who does what and why?
First the American League. The Yankees will probably mangle the Twins, I'd say odds at 2-1 or so. The lucky winner will probably be mangled by the Indians, who finished 2 games off the pace of the once-uncatchable Dodgers. Despite somehow not catching Boston NY finished strong, wilting a tad at the end. But nobody finished anywhere close to as hot as the Indians. And, of course, there's th...Read Full Post »
