Yes, you read that right. I’m optimistic. We in Cleveland are optimistic. As you know from our history, that’s not how we usually are. However, I am optimistic about ALL of my sports teams! Imagine that! In Cleveland!

The most amazing feeling is about the Browns. Yep, those Browns. The cant draft, can’t assess talent, can’t keep a front office, can’t pick Veterans, have no QB and basically stink Browns. For the first time since I can’t remember, I think the Browns are doing things right. I like their Free Agent picks. I can only hope they are just as smart come Draft Day. There isn’t one team that has as many total picks as we do in the next two drafts. Hopefully that means a good draft and trades. I think we have the right Coach too. (Not so sure about that front office, but I am willing to give them this year’s draft). We’ve received lots of positive press about our recent dealings, the “baseball guy making a basketball-like trade for a football team”. Yeah, that’s Cleveland!

The Indians went farther than most thought last year…and I really think they can go back to the World Series this year. The team certainly made a splash with the signing of Encarncion. We have a solid pitching staff too, and Brantley is moving forward and on his way back from injury. I hear Andrew Miller will be used more, in the 7th/8th inning too. Bring it on! Just as my Cavs the previous year, my Indians have “unfinished business”. It led my Cavs to a title…….

The Cavs have made some good moves too. And I think Sanders will eventually contribute too. I like both Williams, and Korver. Love is coming back and JR is back. Shump will add a three or two, and the bench will step up. Not to mention Double T, Kyrie and all he has done, and this guy named Lebron….

Which brings me to my Beloved Buckeyes (sorry folks, I don’t know hockey, I don’t care about hockey, and I don’t watch hockey). What happened in the Playoffs will NEVER happen again under Urban. He said it after the game. We continue to recruit just as good, if not better than Saban. We continue to have strong and highly-rated recruitment rankings. We just reload and reload and reload, as we seem to be becoming the “Kentucky of college football” with young guys leaving early. I definitely see another National Championship coming. Not this year….but……

Optimism is a good thing, especially after a snow storm in March!

And Lastly, here is the vid after we won, our first in any sport in 52 years!  Rad, you'll never know what its like to wait so long and only have one team do it.  I'd rather have 5 SuperBowls, 2 recently NHL Crowns, 2 recent WS wins and a NBA Championship!  Fer Sure!

This one's for you Rad.  Waited 52 &^$%$##@! years!

Hey JD, if we're talking rings in our lifetime, the Bruins did it when I was 20. The Patriots did it when I was 51. The Red Sox did it when I was 54. I deserve some slack I think :)

The Celtics kept me from thinking everybody I liked was a loser when I was a kid/teenager at least.

And the best CFB year I ever had was and remains Flutie in 1984. The last national title anybody around here won was Harvard in 1920, and even that was disputed.

BTW, for 'recent' (since 2000) that's 5 SBs, 3 WS, 1 Stanley Cup and 1 NBA. Ahem.

I would KILL for 5 SB's, 3WS, and a NBA Crown!!!!
You could always trade places with me...Because I may not see another one...and I'll be 6ft under by the time the Browns SNIFF a SB let alone win one!

And the being ahead 3-1 in baseball thing (a la/Sox and Cubs) just STINKS! :)

even the bluejackets r playing well. it might just be time for the browns to improve, even if its just a little. thesteelers and bengals will likely slip and baltimore is about the same...they were at least competitive last year..

What just happened?

Ahem... not a bad offseason so far either, huh? Mwahahaaaa

Back on topic, if Butler's going to NO I think the odds of JG to Cleveland slip badly. NO would owe NE the #11 pick if BB wants it. Why would he need #13? Can't have too many I suppose, but the draft-restock wouldn't be priority 1 anymore (I think). BTW NE will lose its top round-4 pick this year. Guess for what? Deflategate. In retrospect, I think all this stuff is beginning to inflate 'legacy' into 'saga' or 'mythology' instead of detracting. Sorry Roger.

scurds- Good point on Bluejackets.
rad- I recall those days days when The Bmore Colts were in the same division with the Jets, Bills Pats, and Fins. Boy, did we hate Shula for being "bought".

Vap, the Fairbanks/Grogan Patriots and the Marchibroda/Jones Colts did a good job of making the 'Perfect Fins' obsolete in a hurry! Good rivalry. I was at the showdown game when Grogan called his own number, ran straight into Mike Curtis and knocked him out!

I wouldn't be shocked to see the BJs and Edmonton in the Cup finals this year.

rad- Curtis was an under-sized MLB, and I bet he was a Roids boy.
Bills never took full advantage of having OJ in his prime.
