Steele and Links

Posted by Mac D on July 7, 2013 at 2:10 AM

I received my Phil Steele College Football Preview magazine in the mail this week. First time getting a copy and I must say it is pretty amazing. The amount of detail for all 126 FBS teams plus the bigger newsworthy things is astounding. Only a few pages in but I have 8 weeks until kickoff!

One of the best writers out there with a good take on Glendale. A storm was coming, isn't that an omen enough?

Two Brad Steven takes (One and Two). People like to group people together, but the average life span of an NBA coach is 2.3 years, regardless of where you come from.

Did any of you people see this? Warning on the video, but holy moly!

mac- I've followingStevens ' hire at the forums. Mentioned Pittini immediately.

Warriors should be wary of Iggy. IMO, he didn't fulfill expectations in Denver.

I read the story and went wow! And then the video...yuck. Craziness to the max.

Vap - I think agree with Parish and Doyel. He was built for the NBA and not recruiting. Whether he succeeds is a different story but just because he is a college guy doesn't mean he will fail worse than former assistants have in the past.

mac- It would be nice if Stevens broke through where Pittino, Calipari, Montgomery, etc didn't. I saw a photo of Ainge and Stevens at a summer game and they looked like they got along- that's a good sign.

I don't know if he makes the whole 5 years of his deal, but it shows the commitment Ainge has for Stevens. They're in a rebuild and it will take time.
