Sports in the Land

What is wrong with the Cavs?  To have chemistry issues, etc. I could understand...BUT to learn that they are NOT playing hard, and are being called soft?  Whaaaaaaaaaaaa?  You make millions, you go out and play!   Plus the rumors and fingerpointing!  Of course, the media sensationalizes alot of it.

Right now, they are NOT a great team, and most have said a first round elimination.  Totally UNACCEPTABLE!

I'm t...

Did Baker Mayfield Cry?  Did he just get a krap load of karma shoved up his arrogant arse?  Did a Georgia player yell at him "Humble Yourself" several times?

Ya Lost Baby...

Happy Thanksgiving from The Land!

Kudos to Scully & Cuban

For years I thought of Vin Scully only as the announcer for the NBA team I disliked most, and Mark Cuban as a flamboyant jerk. I may have to think about that.

You've probably read something by now about Scully vocally abandoning the NFL and Cuban's comments regarding NFL/NBA 'slavery' drivel. Here's hoping about 100 other owners start drawing lines. One thing you probably haven't seen is this blithering screed against them in the NYDN:

Same Ole Same Ole

In such a short period of time, its back to the same old thing in The Land.  Back to Wait Till Next Year.  Back to (now not one) another Championship in another sport, please before I kick the bucket.

Truly could NOT believe this latest collapse (reminds me of 2007).  Didnt watch the last two games.  Couldn't bear to watch the losing again.  Like so many times these past 53 years, almost getting there and ZOINK...Buh Bye!  Had a short respite i...

From Geniuses to Idiots

OK. One week after I give the Cavs huge props for getting a haul on the Irving trade, now they want to back out of the deal b/c they felt the Celts weren't up front about Thomas' injury.

Uh, memo to the Cavs, people knew he likely wasn't going to start the season and knew this was the last year of his deal. At a minimum, you shouldn't have announced anything until you had done your due diligence. Sounds like you're just have a case of buyer's remorse. Here's hoping you get nothing or...

I'm not a fan of either team by a long shot, but I think the Cavs just pantsed the Celts on this deal.

2018 1RDP fm Brooklyn, top 10 protected. If it is protected, then it becomes UNPROTECTED in 2019.

Irving is 3 yrs younger and has an extra year on his contract. Both are similar players. But Thomas has never been a troublemaker. They got a haul after he said he wanted out.

Irving wanted out b/c he wants to ...

Steph is Stupid and So is Kyrie

Steph has proven to not only be immature on the court, but stupid too!  Guess that goes with all that money you just received, eh???

You've probably seen (or heard) of the wedding video where Steph is mocking Lebron, with Kyrie laughing his butt off.

First, knowing how digital today is and how many people have cell phones; you are ALWAYS being recorded if you are "famous". Dumb move! Classless too!

Seems the word in Cleveland for not one, but now TWO of our sports team is dyfunctional.

I'd say after Kyrie, is DISS function.  Again, another sports star takes a dump on Cleveland and her most loyal and passionate fan base.  Lebron has always held us hostage.  Jim Thome left us for more $$$ and got a statue at Jacobs Field.  Browns players leave the team and tell the world they are relieved.

As one of those most passion...

So Long Jumpin' Gene

Posted by Radatz on July 6, 2017 at 1:30 AM Comments comments (8)

You don't remember him but I do. His name was Gene Conley, and he passed away at 86. Who was this guy, you ask?

He was an amazing athlete. To me, he was the sub center for the Boston Celtics at their peak, winning 3 rings. He was no small part of it. Russell called him the meanest player he ever played against, and he played against him every day in practice. Johnny Most dubbed him Jumpin' Gene. In the 1959-60 season, with probably the best team Boston ever put o...
